Biography

Born in the vibrant cityscape of Chicago in 1969, my journey as a photographer commenced in the 1980s amidst the urban energy and architectural wonders of my hometown. Now settled in Seattle, I draw inspiration from the misty mountains and verdant forests of the Pacific Northwest.

Equipped with an array of cameras – the timeless elegance of the Leica M, the versatility of the Nikon D750, and the medium format magic of the Mamiya 645 and Hasselblad 500C – I embark on an unending quest to capture the essence of what I see.

Intrigued by the evocative atmosphere of film noir, I delight in crafting narratives through the interplay of light and shadow, leaving impressions that linger long after the shutter’s release. My vision has been shaped by the masterful compositions of Ansel Adams, the candid moments by Henri Cartier-Bresson, the emotive storytelling of Dorothea Lange, the compelling portraits by Annie Leibovitz, and the raw authenticity of Ben Folds’ photographic work.

Driven by a fervent wanderlust, I traverse distant lands, immersing myself in varied cultures and landscapes, always with camera in hand.

In every photograph I capture, my aim is not merely to depict what is seen, but to evoke what is felt. Photography, for me, is a deeply personal odyssey of self-discovery and connection.
